Helen Hunter Scholarship
Helen Hunter Scholarships – four scholarship awards open to anyone who has graduated from a Greene County high school, or who resides in Greene County, and is attending an Indiana 2- or 4-year college. Also, scholarships are open to students who lived in Greene County that were home schooled. Scholarships are given in the following categories:
- Current college student enrolled as a junior or senior for the coming fall semester.
- Graduate student enrolled for the coming fall semester.
- Returning or non-traditional student – an adult student at least 25 years old who has been out of the college system for 2 years or more, or an older student who has been out of high school for 5 years or more and is just now starting college.
Kenny and Ruth Richardson Scholarship
Kenny and Ruth Richardson Scholarship – was established in 2013 to provide scholarships to Bloomfield High School graduates entering their junior or senior year of college. The Richardson’s were married for 63 years with no children of their own. They felt the scholarship was a way to give back to their home community. “Education is one of the most important things one can achieve” was Kenny’s comment in setting up the endowed fund. During their lifetime, Kenny and Ruth traveled extensively, with trips to Europe, South America, and all fifty states. Sharing has been a value the Richardson’s have enjoyed throughout their life, be it the screams of neighbors and nieces and nephews in the swimming pool, or helping a young reporter take her dream trip. Kenny retired from AT&T and Ruth from PSI. Their legacy of sharing will live beyond their lifetimes.

Linton Tri Kappa Scholarship
Linton Tri Kappa Scholarship is for current college students who graduated from Linton-Stockton High School and enrolled at an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university. Applicants must have completed at least 2 semesters (or 25 credit hours) at an accredited post-secondary institution. Applicants must be enrolled in good academic standing or accepted to an accredited institution of their choice. Priority will be given to those who have demonstrated strong participation and/or leadership in a philanthropic organization(s).

Sarah D. Bailey Nursing Scholarship
The Sarah D. Bailey Nursing Scholarship is intended for any Greene County resident pursuing a degree in nursing. Dr. Roger and Pam Bailey established a nursing school scholarship in memory of his grandmother, Sarah D. Bailey. Roger indicated his grandmother was the singular reason he returned to Linton in 1991 after completing his residency. Sarah was an RN, and in addition to working as a nurse, raised her 4 children and later in life worked as a volunteer RN at Glenburn Nursing Home. As the oldest of the grandchildren, Roger noticed the wide recognition in honor of his grandfather’s medical practice, but he also recognized the sacrifices his grandmother made to keep the household running smoothly. Her contributions were largely unrecognized at the time, but significant. Through this scholarship, Roger and Pam are pleased to support upcoming nurses while also remembering the one dearest to his heart.
