Welcome

Established in 1997, the Greene County Foundation serves the people of the Greene County community as a public charity. A volunteer board of directors governs the Foundation, whose makeup is as diverse as the community it serves. The Foundation has more than $4 million in assets and has granted more than $9 million since its inception. Over the last eight years, the Foundation has had a philanthropic impact on every school, town, city and informal community in Greene County through multiple forms of donation such as permanent endowments, special projects funds, trusts, memorials and honoraria.  Donations of any size can be used to fund any of the seventy six endowed funds or twenty six scholarship funds.  Look under the funds page for a complete listing.  Support of the unrestricted fund allows the foundation to focus grants on the most immediate community needs which change from year to year.   Donations of cash, stock, real estate, life insurance, etc can be converted to address community needs, and all donations are tax deductible.

Congratulations Seth Herndon

Seth Herndon has been selected as the 2011 Lilly Scholarship winner.  Seth a senior at Linton High school was selected from five finalists and thirty initial applicants.  Due to rising college costs the number of  Lilly scholarships available to counties throughout the state was reduced making the competition for the annual award very stiff.

Seth plan to attend Purdue University and major in engineering.  Seth has been activite in school, church and community activities.

Roy Clark Show Update

Roy Clark and his Friends will  be unable to attend the Roy Clark weekend  held in Linton the first weekend in June.     Roy will be doing a Hee Haw reunion show in Nashville TN.   Plans for next year’s show are currently up in the air.
