About the Staff
Cam started with the Foundation as one of the founding members, serving in a number of capacities as Chairperson of the Grants Committee, Vice – President, and President of the Board of Directors. She became the Executive Director in August 2010.
Originally from Elkhart, Indiana, Cam found her way to Southern Indiana as a student at IU. Graduating a semester early, Cam finished a BA in Social Work and later completed a Masters through the IU School of Education. She has also completed numerous short term workshops and certifications include: Distance Education Certificate, Building Better Communities, Total Quality Management and Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits. Cam’s community involvement is extensive, and as a self-proclaimed “Social Entrepreneur” she has been successful in establishing a number of community initiatives. As Education Coordinator for the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, Cam initiated the first Partners in Education program at the Chamber which has now evolved into the Chamber’s Franklin Initiative. The Educator’s in Industry teacher internship program begun during that time served as a statewide model for helping teachers better understand the needs of today’s workplace. Returning to work in Greene County, Cam wanted to devote her energy and talents to her own community. She has been successful in establishing the Reality Store, the Greene County Community Learning Center, and the Citizens’ Academy Leadership program. As a Founding member, and President of the Friends of Goose Pond, Cam was instrumental in organizing that group and establishing the very successful annual Goose Pond photo contest and calendar.
“I have been involved with the Foundation since its inception and am passionate that the Foundation can be integral to Greene County’s future. Our role is to be a leader in helping Greene County become an even better place to live, work, and play. The Foundation will continue to serve the community through our donor’s gifts, addressing immediate community needs and providing sustainable funding for our organizations and initiatives. I’m thrilled at the opportunity and look forward to wonderful outcomes.”
